Thanks to Boiling Ice, we had a wonderful session yesterday. He started presenting the XBox history. then he showed an excel sheet comparing the latest gaming consoles, in terms of features, functionality, price and architecture. Out of the 3 presented , the Wii definitely is the most promising in terms of fun and price.
However, when Boiling Ice started a demo of the XBox 360, the views changed dramatically. The console's user interface, the Xbox Live network, and the games quality make it in my humble opinion the best console in the market at the moment. Albeit, the PS3 is a monstrous machine and in few months time, it will catch up to the rest of the consoles and hopefully Sony will bring their marketing and pricing scheme to a more realistic understanding.
The session was marathonic. Boiling Ice showed 3:30 pm sharp and we started setting up the XBox 360. It was around 5:00 pm when the presentation started. It was a Friday so the techies are somehow excused for being late :) Beside the rest of the team, We had Bu Ahmed, who joined us for the first time. Most welcomed Bu Ahmed and keep it up. We'll hook you to a presentation soon :)
We started playing Gears of War, which is an amazing 3rd person shooter game and it looked wonderful on my 40 inches Sony LCD :) Then we had a couple of rounds of Need for Speed Carbon. But the real fun was with Burnout. The funky racing game hooked us for a couple of hours with a simple objective of creating the biggest traffic crash ever. The more you blow out cars and buses, the better it is. So funny, but time run out and we called it a day at around 9:30 pm
All in all, boiling ice's enthusiasm and his deep knowledge of the gaming consoles, made it a day to remember. After a long hibernation period, the session was a great refresh for the BahTechies to start over the more juicy topics. Some suggested looking at the Dreambox but I would like to invite a guest speaker for the next session. If any of you gentlemen would like to invite a guest speaker, please do so.

Too bad i missed it. I really miss you all. But I'm glad you all had a great time.
I haven't been into consoles and gaming for some time now, but consoles are on the cutting edge of technology, and I like to get updated. Better than COBOL and TAL any day of the week ;-)
I'll check your next session, and if it can be conferenced, I'll do my best to use the unreliable DSL connections here and get online.
Keep up the good work.
WoooW yaman :D What's Up Man :)

Enjoy :D
I had enjoyed this gathering with you Bahtechies guys. Even though I am a dummy in gaming world as all of you have seen me when I drove the car like a drunk, but I had really enjoyed the setting and the playing. At the beginning I had decided to bring my son with me who is my master in playing games but I thought that since it was the first attending and I am not ware about your protocols I did not bring him. Boiling Ice has done a wonderful session by highlighting the features of Xbox 360 but I had wished that one of us had the PS3 to see them in the live. My first interact with the gaming world was when I bought a PS1 for my kids six years back .Just after two years I bought the PS2 (my son is chasing me to move to PS3 [around BD 280] ), and since then I only know the PS technology as the Gaming console. I think XBOX has moved the gaming to a new dimension but I am sure that PS will catch up.
