There is IE7, and there is Firefox 2.0. But do you remember the other super fast browser? I liked it initially, it was very fast, and it had much more features than both IE and Netscape combined. I even think it had tabbed browser way before Firefox.
But it was not free. You got a free version with an ad-bar, or you needed to pay $25 something to get the ad-free version. That fact somehow deterred me from the browser. It also did not render some pages properly, and in fact Microsoft made their site unusable with that browser.
But that was long ago. Now the company makes money by selling their browser to mobile companies, which embed it as a phone or smartphone browser.
The PC version browser is now free, ad-free, super-fast, has lots of very good features like session management (to open all tabs for you next time you start the browser, it even has BitTorrent client built in! You can customize many settings per site. and lots more.
Excited about this, or do you remember Opera? I just installed it on Ubuntu 6.06 and Fedora 5, and it is very nice and seems stable.
This post is written with Opera 9 on Ubuntu 6.06.
Give it a try, you will like it.

I have downloaded it and now it is my default browser. I love the file Transfer screen.
Still exploring it but initially I like it. I've always wanted to download Opera but never got around to it.
